Karen Cruises To Capital Conquest
Top
seed Karen Kronemeyer, from the Netherlands, cruised to title
success in the Women's NY Capital District Squash Open after
beating New Zealander Joelle King in the final of the inaugural
WISPA World Tour event at Siena College in
Loudonville in the US state of New York.
Melbourne-born Kronemeyer, from The Hague, romped through to the final
without dropping a game, beating sixth-seeded Egyptian Eman El Amir
in the semi-finals.
In
the other semi, third seed King dismissed surprise opponent
Alexandra Norman - an unseeded Montreal-based 24-year-old from
England making her Tour debut - to reach her first WISPA final.
But
Kronemeyer was unstoppable in the final, racing to a 9-0, 9-3, 9-1 win
over King to claim the third Tour title of her career. |
