NEW SQUASH PLAYER MAGAZINE IS RELEASED |
Ali’s
game revealed in new Squash Player magazine
In
the first Squash Player magazine of the 2022/23 season we analyse
the meteoric rise of Commonwealth Games gold medallist Gina Kennedy.
Following a theme, we also introduce up-and-coming Indian Anahat
Singh, new world junior champions Amina Orfi and Rowan Damming, as
well as report on Sam Todd’s record-breaking British Junior Open
Championship.
In Gear Guide we examine the new season’s rackets with PDH Sports’
Paul Hargraves and publish the Squash Player Racket Guide, another
topic in our Guides Series. Many clubs and countries use the
‘excellent’ (if we say so ourselves) Head Guide to Squash, which
includes simple but definitive rule explanations. Here is a sample
attached if you don’t have it already. We can provide a version for
you that clubs can download and print as individual pages.
In our Workshop section, Ali Farag explains the tactical
underpinning of his brilliant game, how he uses the split-step and
how to read an opponent; Jesse Engelbrecht covers countering
pre-match nerves; and Hesham El Attar explains the different types
of energy system you will use in ghosting
(and playing). There is much more in this technical section for the
player keen to improve their own game as well as for coaches.
