Squash Player 2016 Awards
Egypt Dominate Squash Player Annual Awards
Egypt dominate the Squash Player Annual Awards, which are announced
in the latest issue of the magazine, heading four of the six
categories.
World no.1s Mohamed ElShorbagy and Nour El Sherbini have been chosen
as Players of the Year, while Ali Farag and Nouran Gohar pick up the
Young Player of the Year awards.
New Zealand's Paul Coll and Wales' Tesni Evans are named as the Most
Improved Players of the Year.
Among the features in Issue 1 of 2017 is an article by Mike Dale on
how the Egyptians can be beaten, based on interviews with several
coaching experts. He also speaks to Mark Williams, England Squash's
director of participation, on their growth plans.
In addition, we have an interview with Laura Massaro before the
defence of her British national title and an obituary on Scottish
squash legend Mike Oddy from Rod Gilmour.
Our competitions this time are for Ashaway strings and a Polar
running watch.
All the regular sections are there as well, including Drew’s
Diagnosis, Practice Routines, Physio's Therapy, Mastershot and
History, while Sarah Fitz-Gerald is the latest addition to our Hall
of Fame.
