#PSAWorldtour
24-year-old Egyptian Mohamed Elshorbagy has maintained hold of the
World No.1 position on the PSA World Tour rankings for the fourth
consecutive month, increasing his lead over World No.2 Gregory
Gaultier followaing his victory at the opening PSA World Series event
of 2015, the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions.
His opponent in the final of the Tournament of Champions, England’s
Nick Matthew, has risen to No.3 with previous incumbent Amr Shabana
falling two places after his first round defeat at the Suburban
Collection Motor City Open, PSA International 70 event.
That tournament was won by high-flying Colombian Miguel Angel
Rodriguez, his biggest career triumph so far, and having also
reached the semi-finals of the Tournament of Champions the
29-year-old moves up to celebrate a career high World No.6 ranking
in February.
Elsewhere in the top 20 Frenchman Mathieu Castagnet also celebrates
a career high having continued his recent steady progression to
reach World No.12 while Marwan Elshorbagy and Stephen Coppinger have
moved up to equal their best ever rankings of No.14 and No.16,
respectively.
The biggest riser in February is Armenian Ismail Rauf, as the
18-year-old moves up 234 places in the PSA Rankings to occupy the
World No.236 spot.
