Malaysian squash in the early 1980s after retiring from the competitive game of
badminton. His interest grew over the years from a casual player to the national
level within two years. His major involvement in the Squash Rackets Association
of Malaysia started in 1994, where he was appointed as the Deputy Championship
Chairman in the preparation for the XVI Commonwealth Games 1998, Kuala Lumpur.

Asian Squash Championship held in Kuala Lumpur in July as the Pre Games for the

In 2000, he was invited to be the Deputy President of SRA of Malaysia. Sani's knowledge of squash from national to regional and world level is extraordinary and he is highly sought after to be a key official by the local premier clubs
Sani is a graduate of the University of Birmingham in 1976, majoring in Civil & Structural Engineering. He is a perfectionist in all aspects, be it at work or voluntary duties. He is currently the Executive Chairman and major shareholder of three companies, but remains very active in squash, playing 2 to 3 times a week despite his heavy schedule. Besides being a corporate leader in the Malaysian corporate circle, Sani is also known to have turned several troubled organisations into well run and prosperous ones through his superb management skills.
Sani was elected as Vice-President of the World Squash Federation in October 2002 at the AGM held in his home city of Kuala Lumpur.
