Finals

Men’s OpenBen Coleman bt Ant Graham 11/8 11/4 11/4
With no one willing to predict a winner from this match it had the potential to be very close. The first game showed why these two young men have a bright future in the sport and are making their way up world ranking list. Fast paced squash with high class retrieving skills proving it near on impossible to hit a winner, it meant the first game lasted for 18 minutes with both players trying to force an opening. Ben’s movement and ability to turn defense into attack seemed to be on form today and he took the first 11/8. The next two games continued to provide the watching crowd with superb squash but Ben remained focused to stay in front of Ant and close out the match.

Women’s OpenLisa Aitken bt Nada El Kalaawy 11/8 11/9 11/8
A tough opening game saw both players settle quickly. Lisa's line and length, helped with a few errors from Nada at important stages of the game, gave her the first game 11/8. Nada started the 2nd game quickly, racing to a 6/0 lead, with some hard hitting and going short to the front of the court with more joy. The lead was soon whittled away with more errors at crucial times from Nada and saw Lisa level at 8/8 and continued pressure gave her a 2 game lead. The third game provided the crowd with long rallies and a top standard of squash with both women showing great athleticism. Lisa's consistency and ability to change the pace saw her take the game 11/8 and the match 3/0.

Women’s PlateKacey Bartley bt Roxanne Keshavarz 11/4 14/12 11/7

Men’s PlateJoel Matkin bt Julian Tomlinson 11/8 11/8 11/3

Women’s Semi Finals

Lisa Aitken v Sam Ward 11/3 11/1 8/11 11/7
Lisa's powerful hitting and elegant movement got her off to a quick start against Sam. Sam settled in the third with tighter shots and possibly a slight lapse in concentration from Lisa, Sam taking the game 11/8. This gave Sam the confidence to believe she could compete with Lisa and a closer fort battle in the 4th provided the crowd with some great retrieving from both but Lisa used her line and length to open up the winning opportunity to take the match 3/1.

Nada El Kalaawy v Alison Thomson 11/3 11/3 11/2
This game saw the 2010 winner, Nada, take on an upcoming star,, in most spectators opinion, Alison Thompson. Nada raced out the blocks quickly winning the first 11/? Using her power to keep Alison at the back of the court. The second game continued in the same pattern with Nada winning 11/?. Perhaps the efforts of the previous round, where Alison beat number 2 seed Carrie Ramsey in 5, had taken some of the energy from Alison's legs?

The third saw a brighter start from Alison but occasional lose width and low hard winning shots from Nada saw Nada make the final for a 3rd consecutive year.
